Roland Burris is getting educated

October 27, 2009 Comments off

My esteemed Senator, Roland Burris, Has a Lot of Questions About How the Federal Government Works.

Take away quote:

Thank you, Mr. Chairman, this is ā€” this is ā€” I mean this is. Thank you, Mr. Chairman. Iā€™m done.
Sen. Roland Burris (D-IL)

Read his entire incoherent, rambling, statement at the link above.

Reminds one of a Billy Madison quote:
Mr. Madison Burris, what you have just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

A New Pet

October 26, 2009 2 comments

I took the oldest son out shopping with me on Saturday to go get some pasture grass seed (we bought a few acres of farm field next door). He wanted to go to Wal-mart at first to maybe get some new Legos, but then he mentioned that his friend had a hamster and he wanted one too. So I told him he could get one if he had enough money.

So after we ran around town for a while and stopped at Pizza Hut for lunch, we headed over to the Pet Shoppe to check out the hamsters.

We came away with one of these…
A Russian Dwarf Hamster (glorified mouse)

Plus close to $40 in accessories. The picture isn’t his hamster but it looks a lot like him.
Lets hope he never escapes or my wife would have a heart attack..

7 is on its way

October 23, 2009 Comments off

Several months ago I bought a copy of Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade from Amazon for $50. Yesterday it finally shipped! Yippee!

I skipped over Vista but installed the 7 beta back in the spring to test it out and really liked it. Can’t wait until it gets here.

Health Care Reform the right way

October 20, 2009 Comments off

This article has some very good ideas on how Health coverage should really be reformed.

My coverage costs about 5% of my income and I probably couldn’t afford much more than that unless I get an increase in salary. 10% would be way too high for most.

You know its Fall when…

These crazy orange lady bugs invade through every opening in your home!

Asian Lady Beetle on my ceiling

These little critters drive me crazy.
Yesterday there wasn’t a trace of them, today I come home and there are already thousands of dead ones on the front porch.
I remember when there used to be RED lady bugs. These orange ones were apparently imported by some dopes in Washington to help with aphids.

And they bite!

Stimulus not stimulating

October 16, 2009 1 comment

It seems the economic acumen of Obama and the Democrats isn’t what they claimed during the election.
That or they’re just reckless.
Or both.

‘Barackie Madoff’ rescue nothing but a $16B rip-off

The Obama administration boasted yesterday that with $16 billion taken from you and given to others, 30,383 working Americans owe a hearty thanks of gratitude for their jobs.

‘Stim’ out of steam

Nationally, 30,000 jobs were created by $16 billion in contracts.

I can’t wait to vote these bums out. Unfortunately the damage is already done.

A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned – this is the sum of good government.
